With the Premium CASARENA wine, we want to start adding more pleasure to your daily lives.
CASARENA is located in the province of Mendoza (Note 1), which has a characteristic terroir located at the foot of the majestic Andes Mountains in the center of Argentina. It is a continental climate with mild and light rain suitable for viticulture, where the temperature difference between the night and day is large and the sunshine is long, and the wind from the Pacific Ocean changes to dry wind when it crosses the Andes Mountains, so it may be dry throughout the year. It is a feature. Not only are these climates suitable for viticulture, but the four vineyards (Note 2) owned by CASARENA are high at an altitude of 918 to 960 meters, which makes it difficult for pathogenic bacteria to act, so grape is grown in infinitesimal quantities of residual agricultural chemicals. Each of the four vineyards has different soils with a mixture of mineral-rich granite and mud, low-mineral sandstone and old river bed boulders, and the grapes show different growth just by moving a few meters and planting them. It's complicated. CASARENA also has a well-developed irrigation system that utilizes the Andean mineral-rich snowmelt.
Note 1) Mendoza is an area where nearly 80% of Argentine wines are produced and is one of the 10 largest wine cities in the world. It is the world's largest producer of Malbec, a black grape variety.
Note 2) Four vineyards composed of different soils are named after the grandchildren of the winery owner. We are surprised to find that one of them was Naoki, who catches Japanese blood.
There are many reasons why we are attracted to CASARENA. CASARENA is one of Argentina's leading premium single vineyard winemakers (Note 3), including female president Claudia, and the people who work in CASARENA are a passionate young generation team in their early 30s to early 40s. Nicolas of Export manager is trying to spread premium wine to Japan by forming a tag as a good partner while incorporating our thoughts and opinions. Leandro, a wine maker, pursues the quality of CASARENA wine every day with a young and flexible idea while incorporating traditional French Bordeaux brewing techniques. As a pioneer of single vineyard wine production, Pablo, an agronomist who manages a vineyard with four distinctive soils, is constantly making ingenuity for the method of planting grapes. This is because of a project (Note 4) to produce a new wine with a view to 5 years to 10 years. And so on, CASARENA is a premium winery with charms that cannot be fully explained. We will deliver it to everyone in Japan with confidence (Note 5).
Note 3) CASARENA brews wine using only grapes from a single vineyard with strict traceability, and finishes wine that can directly express the characteristics (terroir) of the vineyard.
Note 4) CASARENA have further developed single vineyard wines and have been challenging for premium single block wines that use only grapes in specific areas from 2019. The first project will be completed in 2024.
Note 5) We handle all single vineyard wines of CASARENA.
